Scrimmage
Easy
A scrimmage is a time for kids to put the hard work into action, and experience the pressure of competition. Simulate game play by splitting into groups and involving live baseball. That means:
- Putouts to bases
- Balls and strikes
- Tee vs. Kid pitch vs. Coach Pitch
- Rotations: Offense –> Defense –> Cages
There are many variations of the scrimmage and you’ll have to select what fits best for your age level and season situation. Consider “replays” to teach and provide opportunities to execute correctly and start innings with different situations to promote positive experience. Example: Start each inning with last inning’s final out as a first base runner.
