Four Corner Wiffle BP
Medium
Four-Corner Wiffle BP is a hitting drill designed for efficiency. Involve as many available coaches and parents as you can to activate four stations. Run this drill ANYWHERE but think safety first.
EXECUTION –Four-Corner Wiffle BP is run in any open space. Four bases/cones mark the stations, each with a batter, coach, and bunch of wiffle balls (20-25). Select your drill per station, quantity of swings, and rotation details:
- Drill – Each station can be different. Choose from tee work, soft toss, front toss, live arm (take a knee), curveballs, bunting, getting hit.
- Coach – Choose drill appropriate to your help.
- Rotation – Individually, or as a group, around the square.
- Shaggers – Use parents, brothers, sisters, and dogs in the “middle” of the square. Constantly restock coaches ammo.
DC KEYS
- More, More, More – More help means more swings. With 12 athletes, that’s 3 per station. Take 8 swings and rotate! That’s a lot of swings and NO athletes are stuck shagging.
- Take a Knee – If throwing live arm (FB, Curveball, etc), take a knee. Lower the pitch height to a more realistic level and let it rip
- Stock Up – I like 25 wiffle balls for a station (total 100). It’s realistic and affordable. However, with parents in the middle restocking the balls, you could easily do this drill with 50.
