                                                    Easy

Bucket Free Throws is a fun competition to finish practice with.  It is, as it sounds, the simple challenge of making a baseball into a bucket.  Just like a basketball player stands behind the line and shoots a free throw, athletes line up for their shot at glory!

                                                    EXECUTION

Place a half-full bucket next to the fence.  Pace out 10-15 feet and draw a line in the dirt.  Athletes must stand behind the line and shoot the ball into the bucket.  Each athlete gets two baseballs to shoot.  Rotate around all players and coaches (they love this stuff) shooting once, and then return through the same order for a second shot.  If there is a clear-cut winner, the game is over.  If several players are tied with one or two made shots, then pick up a baseball and have a shoot-off.  First one to make wins!  Of course, maintain order so everyone has equal opportunity to win (or tie that round).

                                                    DC KEYS

                                                    1. Prize – Baseball cards, piece of candy, money?
                                                    2. Use Half-Full Bucket – With an empty bucket or one that is too full, shots can fall out.  Start with a full bucket, give each participant two baseballs, and that bucket should be at a perfect fill-level.
                                                    3. Mix Up Finish – Fun drill vs. Life Lesson discussion vs. current event vs. Quick exit.
