GOALS
Get stuff and develop along the way?
Through goals we obtained two things.
1. We get stuff – We may end up with the shiny new bat or a new glove, because we set a goal and we achieved our goal. But far more important is…
2. Character development – Through the process, or the journey, of working towards that goal, whatever the goal may be… we create the person that we are! We build habits. We build positive work ethics. And that goal becomes very very important, even to a group of youth baseball players.
So this week let’s set a specific goal for the spring season. It’s got to be relatively short term, so we know if we achieved it and it’s got to be measurable. Here are a couple examples:
Two hits in one game.
Heck three hits in one game.
Or four innings pitched with no walks.
Think about all the different pieces that go into achieving that type of a measurable goal. Below, you’ll see an area to write down your goal – the power of the pen or pencil is real. And underneath that, write three immediate action items you can take to start working towards achievement of that goal. Have fun picking out a goal that truly fires you up. What would be awesome if you achieved your challenge?
Your challenge: Set a goal and get to work.
Have fun. Play hard.
